UK-based outdoor brand Terra Nova has announced that it will have what it calls the lightest double-wall tents for one and two persons in the world on display at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market event in Salt Lake City (August 3–6).

Thanks to a proprietary fabric called Ultra, the Laser Ultra 1 tent weighs just 495 grammes, including the flysheet and the inner and main pole. It has a hydrostatic head of 3000 on both flysheet and floor. And in the Laser Photon 2, the company says it is offering the world’s first sub-900 gramme two-person double-wall tent; it weighs 880 grammes. The Laser Photon 2’s hydrostatic head is 2000 for the flysheet and 3000 for the floor.

Both tents are part of Terra Nova’s spring 2011 collection.
