Higher sales at JJB

08/07/2010

UK-based sportswear retailer JJB Sports has posted a 22.3% rise in sales for the six weeks to July 4 despite England’s early exit from the World Cup. Moreover, profits increased by 43.9%.

The Wigan-based retailer is currently restructuring after a difficult few years and relies heavily on football tournaments to spur replica shirt sales. However, it has been broadening its focus to include a wider range of sporting events so that it is less dependent on tournaments such as the World Cup and the European Championships.
