Schoeller’s coldblack nominated for design prize
09/07/2010
“The nomination has taken us totally by surprise, admits company spokesperson Hans Kohn. “It is an almost seamless extension to the Swiss equivalent, which we won in November 2009. However, as a Swiss company we did not anticipate this nomination.”
Coldblack has a twofold protective function. It helps athletes stay cooler under heat by reflecting 80% of heat rays and offering a minimum ultraviolet protection factor of 30. The treatment is bluesign-compliant, which offers a guarantee that it contains no components or processes hazardous to people or the environment.
The sun protection technology has also been recognised through its inclusion in other brands’ ranges. In February, Thoni Mara was nominated for the ispo Brand New Award for its marathon collection and Gustav Daiber won the Promotional Gift Award 2010 for its high-quality flexifit cap with a coldblack finish.
The Design Prize winner will be announced at the end of the year.
