The University of Bolton (UK) has put out a call for papers as it prepares to host the third International Symposium on Fibre Recycling. Topics include natural and synthetic fibre recycling, environmental impacts and possible solutions and future trends.

Held in collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology (US), and Kyoto Institute of Technology (Japan), the symposium will be held on June 15-16, 2011. It will invite scientists and manufacturers to explore and discuss the latest research findings and innovative solutions in their fields. It will also provide a forum for exchanging ideas and networking.

Symposium chair at the University of Bolton, Mohsen Miraftab, said: “Recycling is still in its infancy and much of what could be recycled or diverted into alternative applications remains unexplored, or currently unattractive for reasons such as cost.

“The research communities across the world have a great deal they can give to recycling and this symposium is an important opportunity for us to come together to learn from each other and inspire new ways forward.”
