Rieter wants to be part of Turkmenistan textile boom

16/07/2010
Textile machinery manufacturer Rieter travelled to Turkmenistan recently to take part in a textile industry forum in the city of Ashgabat. The theme was the development of the textile industry in the central Asian country, an aspiring cotton producer.

The government there has appointed a dedicated textile minister, Aynabat Babayeva, who attended the opening ceremony and toured the exhibition, making a personal visit to the Rieter stand. Turkmenistan plans a massive expansion of its textile industry and thereby an increase in yarn production by the year 2020.

Rieter said afterwards that it aimed to support these aspirations and that the level of interest in its technology, especially its compact spinning machine, the Rieter K 45 ComforSpin, was high among visitors.
