Schoeller Textil announces fabric trends for summer 2012

Airy lightness will be one of the trends in the functional multiwear fabrics that feel wonderful and look cool when worn for recreation, sports, travel or in the city, the company says. It says top levels of comfort combined with lower packing volume will make multifunctional fabrics such as the soft,
elastic schoeller-dynamic and schoeller-dryskin “the favourites for the season”. They will be available in classic colours such as black or navy, in natural beige, brown and grey shades or in lush vibrant grass green.
There will also be schoeller-dryskin soft-shells for accents as trim or as full jacket qualities for spring and autumn. In deep red, sporty blue or
uncomplicated taupe with a pleasantly brushed interior, they are ideal for trendy hybrid jackets, the Swiss company claims. Recently, Schoeller has begun offering carefully selected, bi-elastic articles in wider widths ranging from 146 to 151 centimeters. This
allows a better use of the fabric during cutting, which can mean a price advantage for customers.
The current schoeller-aeroshell and schoeller-spirit fabrics play with colours, patterns, transparency and dimensions. The pale yellow, semi-transparent schoeller-aeroshell (for hybrid concepts) and the schoeller-spirits brings a breath of fresh air for shoes, trims or bags. The elastic three-dimensional fabric, with a metallic sheen on the outside and a honeycomb, richly contrasting blue 3-D look on the interior,
appears sculpted. Thanks to its c_change technology a waterproof combination of a fiery red mesh with a matt grey fleece provides inspiration for experimental design, Schoeller says.
Schoeller says it is responding to the demand for “wafer-thin function with ultra-light schoeller-WB-formula fabrics with outstanding wind proofing”. The crosswise elastic version with c_change climate membrane “fascinates with a black, structured exterior and a silver-grey shiny interior”. The newly developed colourful windbreaker fabric radiates the same colour intensity on the back and front in eye-catching red or blue and understated beige.
Depending on functional requirements, additional technologies such as coldblack heat and UV protection, 3XDRY feelgood technology, Inzectic tick and mosquito protection or the self-cleaning NanoSphere finish can be added to all Schoeller fabrics. Most of the current Schoeller collection conforms to bluesign standards.
Energear is the name of the latest Schoeller technology with a material matrix tailored to fabrics. Based on the ancient knowledge about the capacity of certain minerals to radiate Far Infrared Rays (FIRs), energear ensures that the energy radiated by the body is recovered. This additional energy has a positive effect on performance capacity and wellbeing. Energear is available as schoeller-WB-400 in soft-shell jacket quality or as schoeller-WB-formula with even greater wind and weather protection, in light schoeller-dynamic pants fabrics or as super-comfortable schoeller-dryskin fabric for pants and jackets.
