Sports brand Oakley has announced that products in its Oakley Livestrong collection have sold well enough to have generated more than $5 million in contributions to the Livestrong cancer charity, founded by seven-time Tour de France winner and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong.

Oakley launched its Livestrong collection, which includes a series of sports sunglasses, in 2007.

Chief executive, Colin Baden, said on announcing the $5 million figure: "We have reached this important milestone in our history with Lance and Livestrong because of the countless customers who have shown their support. It is an honour to be a part of such a worthy cause."
