Ethics and eco-textiles join forces

Non-profit organisations the RITE Group and the Ethical Fashion Forum, who will run two major textile events alongside each other in London this autumn, have announced new speakers for the programme.

Located together for the first time at Central Hall, Westminster, London, on October 6, the RITE Group conference on sustainable textiles and clothing will run alongside the Ethical Fashion Source exhibition (formerly Global Sourcing Marketplace) and the organisers are hoping to attract up to 1,000 sourcing professionals.

The latest speakers to be included on the conference programme are DuPont, surfwear brand Finisterre, the Textile Recycling Association, and the new president of Huntsman Textile Effects. Other speakers will be announced in the weeks ahead.

“We recognise that environmental and ethical issues are often difficult to separate and many of our supporters have asked us to give more time to ethical considerations,” explained RITE Group chairman, Phil Patterson. “We are therefore delighted to partner with the Ethical Fashion Forum and firmly believe its input into the RITE event will be interesting, stimulating and above all very useful.”
