Speedo shapes up to launch new Sculpture swimwear collection
29/07/2010
Speedo’s Sculpture collections contain a wide range of swimwear garments that are specifically designed to smooth, sculpt and make the most of the feminine silhouette. The new collection includes the Shapeline product range, which the sportswear brand says is the nearest thing to made-to-measure swimwear on the market.
The development of Shapeline swimwear was based on research carried out by Speedo’s Aqualab facility in Nottingham, which involved scanning over 5,000 different women’s body shapes. From the extensive data gathered, Speedo was able to create three separate silhouettes: the bust shaper, the waist smoother and the tummy and hip sculptor. Each silhouette has been designed to fit and flatter perfectly, appropriately accentuating a women’s assets.
In addition, patterns and panelling are cleverly used throughout the garment range to draw a person’s eye away from problem areas and create the impression of a more balanced and desirable body shape. Each garment is fitted according to a combination of body size and cup size, and offers underwired cup fitting to a G cup.
The Streamline range is also part of the new Sculpture collection. It uses fabrics to create medium control body shaping swimwear for women of all shapes and sizes. The new ‘Premiere’ and ‘Luxe’ pieces extend the range to a G and H cup respectively. The pieces in the range include adjustable straps, internal bras and chlorine resistance properties.
