White House officials to take part in Salt Lake City discussion

30/07/2010
US Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar, and the chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Nancy Sutley, will be present on the first day of the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market exhibition in Salt Lake City, Tuesday, August 3.

The two officials will take part in a listening session aimed at taking forward the America's Great Outdoors Initiative, which President Barack Obama launched in April. They will speak and take part in discussions at a special breakfast session in the Marriott Hotel across from the exhibition centre.

The new initiative brings together people and organisations from communities across the US that are working to protect their outdoor spaces and are focused on developing and supporting innovative ideas for improving conservation and recreation at the local level.
