Outdoor industry supports 6.5 million US jobs

Speaking at an industry breakfast at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market exhibition in Salt Lake City in August, Mr Salazar said he had a clear understanding of the importance of outdoor activities for health, for care for the planet and also for jobs in the US.
“It’s just a delight to be here,” he said. “When you see the thousands of companies, the billions of dollars people spend and the more than 6.5 million jobs created, it's very heartening. You have people who are very passionate about the outdoors and about protecting the outdoors for all the right reasons.”
