The Hohenstein Institute has established a contact office in Minsk, Belarus, in response to increasing demand for textile quality assessment. The Germany-based research centre says it has been carrying out more and more testing for textile firms in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldavia and the Ukraine. These companies range from yarn manufacturers to makers of ready-to-wear clothing
The new office officially represents the Oeko-Tex Association and is headed by Roman Paschenuk. It is advising companies on all matters relating to product certification according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. It also provides the institute’s consulting, testing and certification services. These range from testing for compliance with legal requirements to the evaluation of product characteristics such as size, workmanship and wear comfort.
