Dow Corning Corporation will highlight its silicone solutions for the textile industry, including DEFLEXION impact-protection technology and its specialist textile printing inks, at the Northwest Apparel and Footwear Materials Show in Portland, September 14–15.

Dr Liz Mallen, Dow Corning Textile business development manager, said in the build-up to the show: “Unlike bulky, hard-armour systems, DEFLEXION provides silicone-based textile technologies that are very comfortable to wear in terms of fit, freedom of movement and temperature control.”

The company’s silicone screen printing solutions provide competitive advantages for high-performance apparel. “The inks offer high elongation and a soft, non-tacky handle,” said Charlie Zimmer, Dow Corning Textile global marketing manager. “Additionally, the cost-effective inks provide optimal coverage and allow for a variety of unique special effects.” The inks contain no organotin, phthalate, formaldehyde, PVC or solvents.
