Under Armour names breast cancer winners
23/08/2010
The competition is a yearly online campaign that encourages survivors and women living with breast cancer to submit inspirational stories of strength and courage. This year, the winners are Joleen Ruffin from California, Ashley Roback from Kentucky and Lisa Messer from Pennsylvania.
The three women will continue to help empower and support others through their tales of inspiration and by representing Under Armour next year. The brand will donate $5,000 to each of the three survivors’ breast cancer organisations of choice.
“These three women are true fighters—they embody strength and inspiration in everything that they do. We are honoured to join forces with them in their fight against breast cancer,” said Adrienne Lofton, senior marketing director for the women’s category at Under Armour.
Throughout September and October, while supplies last, consumers will be able to purchase limited-edition, pink ribbon-imprinted styles at Under Armour specialty stores, online and at select retail locations nationwide. The expanded line includes women’s tops, bottoms and accessories, men’s apparel, as well as mountain and outdoor apparel. For every Power in Pink item purchased in-store and online, Under Armour will donate a percentage of the proceeds to a number of organisations dedicated to research and the fight against breast cancer.
