Tiger Woods apparel in trouble

24/08/2010
Apparel bearing the Tiger Woods name is selling less well than other golf brands, specialist retail groups have said.

Business news resource Bloomberg has said that golf apparel sales in general were strong in the first six months of 2010, but that high-end trousers, jackets and tops from Nike bearing the Tiger Woods name have performed less well. After much-publicised problems in his personal life, Tiger Woods has had a poor few months on the course, winning no tournaments and slipping to 83rd on the PGA Tour list.

The clothing buyer for Roger Dunn Golf Shops, which has more than 20 stores across the US, Laura Dowdy, told Bloomberg that all apparel other than “the Tiger brand”, including other Nike lines, was selling well.
