Teijin Fibers presented its latest products at lingerie and beachwear fabric show Interfilière (Paris, September 4-6).

Its theme at the show was ‘The Fusion of Ecology and Function’ and mainly focused on ELKTM, a urethane-alternative, high-performance polyester cushioning material that is often used to make bra cups. According to the company, it is lightweight, durable, highly rebounding, breathable and does not yellow easily. Added to this, Teijin claims the product is environmentally friendly as it does not generate cyanogen gas when incinerated.

Other products it presented at the shoe included Waveron, a non-transparent polyester fibre with a cross section of four flat peaks. It is sweat absorbent, quick drying, ultraviolet-ray blocking and wind and waterproof. It is comfortable to wear because of its soft texture.

Teijin also presented its Eco Circle fibres at Interfilière. These recycled polyester fibres are produced from used polyester products using the company’s chemical recycling technology.

Finally, its Nanofront technology was also on show. Nanofront is a high-strength polyester fibre with a thickness of just 700 nanometres, 7,500 times thinner than a strand of human hair and 200,000 times thinner than conventional polyester fibre. The ultra-fine fibre is also soft and stretchy, and boasts excellent absorbency and opaqueness.
