Revenues slide at Quiksilver

Outdoor sports lifestyle company Quiksilver experienced sales declines in all its geographical regions during the third quarter ended July 31.

Total net revenues were $441.5 million compared with $501.4 million during the same period last year. Americas revenues fell $234.6 million from $256.8 million, while Europe revenues dropped 20% to $151.7 million from $189 million. Asia Pacific revenues decreased by 1% to $54.5 million.

However, income for the third quarter was $12.5 million compared with $3.7 million during the third-quarter of 2009.

Robert McKnight Jr, chairman of the board, chief executive officer and president of Quiksilver, said: “We’re very pleased to again deliver financial results that exceeded our prior expectations. Our team executed well in an economic environment that continues to present significant challenges around the world.”
