ESF focuses more on sportswear market

France-based European Stretch Fabrics (ESF) has decided to focus more on producing yarns and textiles for the active and sportswear markets following a recent shift in demand.
The company’s background was in textiles for the intimate apparel sector, which originally accounted for 100% of its business. However, company spokesperson Bernard de Buhren told sportstextiles.com that sportswear fabrics are now its biggest segment, accounting for 40% of its production. Intimates textiles represent 30% of the business, while industrial fabrics account for 20% and fashion beachwear for the remaining 10%.
Its first foray into the sportswear field was for competition sportswear, and after that it branched into triathlon fabrics. It now produces fabrics for a wide range of sports including running trekking and cycling.
