Agion odour control textile solution receives US patent

Massachusetts-based Agion Technologies has been issued a US patent for its unique odour control solution, used to treat white and light-coloured textiles.

The company claims other silver-based technologies have been unable to achieve the combination of long-term colour stability and wash durability, while its solution improves whiteness visually, even after multiple washings.

The patent was awarded to inventors Gene Hendriks, a senior development engineer at Agion, and CTO Jeffrey Trogolo, a founding member of the company who directs its technology operations and product development.
“Receiving this patent further validates how firmly we stand behind our textile technologies; they are unique from other solutions and offer real, tangible benefits to the manufacturers, retailers and apparel brands that incorporate them into their products,” stated Paul Ford, CEO of Agion Technologies.

“Innovation is important to Agion and, frankly, to each of the esteemed brands that partner with us to differentiate their own products from their competitors. We’re pleased to add this to our long list of existing patents and will continue to enhance and expand our offerings in the textile industry and beyond.”
Agion’s textile technologies can be incorporated into a wide range of products including sports gear, activewear, undergarments, footwear and uniforms.
