Nike store closure caused by bedbugs
Nike’s flagship store closed temporarily earlier this week because of a problem with bedbugs. The sportswear firm said it had taken the measure “proactively” in a bid to deal with the situation to protect its customers and employees.
Bedbugs have been a growing concern in New York in recent months and have recently been discovered at a popular theatre, in office buildings, shops and apartments. The small insects bite humans and cause itching and soreness in some of their victims.
"Our primary concern is the well-being of our consumers and sales associates," Nike said in a statement. "We are taking all proper steps to eradicate the problem, and we expect the store to reopen shortly."
