Ecco Golf extends deal with Thongchai Jaidee
Danish shoemaker Ecco has extended its endorsement agreement with international Tour star Thongchai Jaidee, who will compete in the brand’s new BIOM Golf footwear and continue to showcase the company’s logo on his shirt collar. The Thai golfer, currently ranked 73 in the official world golf rankings, will also feature in various Ecco marketing initiatives.
Mr Jaidee has five European Tour top-tens this season, highlighted by a third-place finish at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and fifth-place finish at the Accenture Match Play Championship.
A three-time winner of the Asian Tour Order of Merit, he was the first Thai player to win a European Tour event and the first player of any nationality to exceed $2 million in career Asian Tour earnings.
“Thongchai is one [of] Asia’s most popular players and has been a great Ecco ambassador for many years,” says Jesper Thuen, sponsor and event manager, Ecco Golf. “He continues to perform at remarkably high level and we’re excited to have him compete in BIOM Golf, which will bring worldwide attention to the natural motion footwear category that ECCO has pioneered.”
The BIOM Golf shoe is designed to follow the foot’s natural system for absorbing impact in order to enhance stability while strengthening muscles in the feet and lower legs. It features a swing platform that brings men and women closer to the playing surface, improving ground feel and traction.
