Sports and outdoor footwear brand Hi-Tec has announced that it is relocating its US headquarters from Modesto, California, to Portland, Oregon.

“Portland is a hub for some of the best talent in our industry,” Bill Berta, chief executive of Hi-Tec USA, told local media at the time of the announcement. “Few cities share our values and commitment to a healthy, outdoor lifestyle like Portland. We could not be happier to be here.”

For his part, the mayor of Portland, Sam Adams, said Hi-Tec’s choice for its new US headquarters “reaffirms Portland’s stature as the centre of the activewear industry”.
