Peak celebrates Govortsova win

The chief executive of Chinese sports company Peak Sports has spoken of his delight at a win in the women’s doubles at the China Open in Beijing for Belorusian tennis star Olga Govortsova.

Ms Govortsova, recruited by Peak Sports as a brand ambassador in September, took the title against the odds on October 9 with her partner, Taiwanese tennis player Chuang Chia-Jung.

Afterwards, Peak chief executive, Xu Zhihua, commented: “We contracted Ms Govortsova as she is not only young, fashionable, elegant and charming but also possesses strong potential, which fits our principle of seeking potential stars of tomorrow.”

He said contracting overseas stars such as Olga Govortsova was part of a strategy of globalisation for the brand.
