TTF and Euratex sign agreement

15/10/2010
The Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) announced during the 2010 Titas exhibition in Taipei that it is to sign a trade co-operation agreement with European textiles and apparel body Euratex.

TTF general secretary, Justin Huang, pointed out that the agreement with Euratex comes only a month after the Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) between China and Taiwan, which allows Taiwan-made textile end-products to be exported to the Chinese mainland duty free.

“Already the effects can be felt,” Mr Huang said. “For the first time at Titas, there are more than 100 overseas exhibitors, with 25 coming from China, and the buyers of many international brands, such as Puma, the North Face, Levi’s and Marks & Spencer have attended as visitors."

There were 285 exhibitors in total at Titas 2010, marking an increase of over 10% on last year.
