French technology providers to help Syrian textile sector

Speaking after a workshop in mid-October, Syria’s assistant minister of industry, Rashad al-A'assa, commented: “We discussed the best ways of upgrading the Syrian textile industry and increasing the competitiveness of its products to match up with the international standards regarding quality and price.”
For her part, Sylvie Sturel, an economic adviser at the French embassy in Damascus, said 12 French companies had taken part in the workshop and were keen to be part of an ongoing co-operation programme.
