Performance golf socks brand Kentwool celebrated the success of tour professional Jonathan Byrd at the end of October when he became the first player to win a PGA Tour event by shooting a hole-in-one during a play-off.

The company said its proprietary blend of merino wool yarns had helped the golfer to stay cool and comfortable during a pressure-packed play-off with Cameron Percy and defending champion Martin Laird.

"It's kind of hard to process because I'm still in shock," Jonathan Byrd said afterwards. “You're never prepared for a hole-in-one.”

Mark Kent, president and chief executive of Kentwool, said: “The manner in which Jonathan won was just incredible and we’re so proud of his accomplishment. It’s not every day your product helps create PGA Tour history, so it’s a thrilling moment for us too.”
