Amer Sports appoints new CFO

Clothing and equipment group Amer Sports has announced that its senior vice-president for finance, Jussi Siitonen, has been appointed as the company’s new chief financial officer (CFO).

He will take up the role on January 1, 2011 when the current CFO, Pekka Paalanne, retires. At the same time, Mr Siitonen will become a member of the executive board.

Mr Siitonen joined Amer Sports on December 1, 2009 from Stora Enso Oyj where he worked in several finance, controlling and project management positions for 18 years and will report to Amer Sports’ president and chief executive, Heikki Takala.

On making the announcement, Mr Takala said: “We want to thank Pekka for his great contribution to the company. Pekka has had a pivotal role in the company development during these 14 years and he showed strong commitment to the company by extending his tenure beyond his defined retirement date.”
