A&E gives its backing to product safety conference

Specialist sewing thread manufacturer American & Efird (A&E) has announced that it will play an active role in the upcoming American Apparel and Footwear Association’s International Product Safety & Restricted Substances Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on November 10.

The conference, to be held on November 10, will provide a forum for retailers and industry experts to discuss product safety regulations, new testing requirements, use of the AAFA’s Restricted Substance List, retailer concerns and consequences of non-compliance. The conference will be held in co-operation with the US Chamber of Commerce, the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (VITAS), the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and the Apparel & Footwear International RSL Management Working Group (AFIRM).

Beyond A&E sponsoring the printing of the conference proceedings, the company's John Eapen will moderate a key discussion on safety standards and regulations and will provide closing remarks for the conference.
