Olympic deal gives Trimark a boost
Being chosen as the activewear licensee for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games gave the Trimark Sportswear Group a real boost, according to the company.
Vice president of marketing and business development and chief operating officer, Will Andrew, said that the deal taught the company how to adapt its design, production and shipping processes to create new distribution channels. Following the Olympics and Paralympics, the group generated 600 new accounts and increased revenues.
"That deal put us on a different growth curve," said Mr Andrew. "It added licensing to our repertoire, which we had never done before.”
The sportswear and outdoor wear producer is currently celebrating its 35th anniversary. Its apparel line includes the ONTOUR, Landmark, Nexus Apparel, Outer Boundary and Elevate Sport brands.
