Change of scenery for Gramicci

04/11/2010

Gramicci, developer of Natural Performance Technology (NPT) outdoor clothing, moved to new offices on October 1. Its new address is 28632 Roadside Drive, Suite 150, Agoura Hills, CA 91301, USA.

The new offices incorporate new personnel in the marketing, design and customer service departments. The offices will also be used to launch the company’s dye and finish replenishment programme for its G-Series products in a bid to help reduce unemployment in California.

The new building is energy-efficient in terms of lighting and heating, with automated controls for each section of the building. It will use recycled products where possible.
“Twelve percent of Gramicci’s pant, short and organic graphic tee shirt business will be dyed and finished here in the US starting in November of this year. We have a program called Start Somewhere that was created to encourage and help people with finding ways to do something good. We have a big unemployment problem here in California and throughout the US, so we are starting somewhere and will continue to look for ways to help put people back to work here,” said Marty Weening president of Gramicci.
He added: “The G Series is special here. Back in early 1982 when Gramicci introduced the first G-climbing pant and short they were only sold in the colour white. Friends, climbers, and surfers took RIT Dye and custom dyed their Gramicci’s in crazy colours and tie-dyed designs. This gave birth to the first cult like followers of the brand lovingly referred to as Gramicciheads.”
