Shutdowns at Japan Polypropylene

11/11/2010

Japan Polypropylene Corp, which operates several polypropylene production plants across Japan, is to close two of its units next June.

The company, which has a maximum production capacity of 1.08 million tonnes per year, has been operating at reduced levels for several months because of the global economic downturn.

The two sites that will close permanently are its Kashima plant, which has a 90,000 tonne capacity and the Goi unit, which has a 79,000 tonne capacity per year.
