Scarpa North America and Ski Trab join forces
Scarpa North America is to distribute Ski Trab’s backcountry and ski-touring products from autumn 2011. The move will bring Scarpa’s footwear and Ski Trab’s skis, bindings and accessories under one roof.
“This is a natural partnership, because Scarpa and Ski Trab not only have a shared heritage, but each complements the other’s core capabilities and goals in the market,” said Kim Miller, CEO of Scarpa North America. “Both Ski Trab and Scarpa are the top Rando Racing brands across Europe; a sport that is still in its infancy, but is growing exponentially in North America.”
Established in 1946, Ski Trab has is headquartered in Bormio, Italy, where its products continue to be manufactured. It is best known for handcrafting lightweight, durable, high-performance skis.
