Berghaus takes control of its German division
UK-based outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment provider Berghaus is making changes to its business in Germany. With effect from January 1, 2011, the brand will be managed by a subsidiary company, Berghaus Germany. Its current sales agent, Brand Connection, will focus on its other brands.
Under the new arrangement, the Berghaus sales representatives who work for Brand Connection will move across to the new subsidiary to provide continuity.
One of the new positions, with immediate effect, is European product line manager. Sebastien Willefert, who is currently Berghaus European regional sales manager, will take on this role. Based within the German subsidiary, he will work with the brand team to build product ranges that are specific to the European market.
Simon Roberts, Berghaus EMEA sales director, said: “As Berghaus grows, we are adapting and improving our strategy for key territories, implementing effective and sustainable market specific business models. In that context, moving to a subsidiary model in Germany is an exciting and significant development for the brand.
“The launch of Berghaus Germany reinforces our commitment to growing our business in the market as an important element of our wider long-term global strategy. These changes highlight how we are continuing to invest in Germany and the wider EMEA area, both in sales and marketing, but just as crucially in product design and development.”
