Mammut uses Dassault’s Enovia V6 solution
Switzerland-based Mammut Sports Group has adopted Dassault Systèmes’ Enovia V6 solution.
The technology provided by the France-based 3D and product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions provider will help Mammut manage its development processes from initial product design all the way to sourcing, manufacturing and sales. The aim is to streamline collaboration and improve time to market.
Mammut designs alpine and trekking equipment, including apparel, footwear and climbing gear. It will now use Enovia V6’s Apparel Accelerators for Design & Development and for Sourcing & Production to help with the whole product development to manufacturing cycle.
Josef Lingg, chief supply chain officer at Mammut, said: “In the past, product information was dispersed throughout the company. Often we needed too much time to track down the latest, most up-to-date data when we needed to negotiate with suppliers, create marketing and technical documentation, or create product specifications for production launch. This sometimes generated costly errors and the need for rework due to products that did not comply with the latest design intent.
“Working with Enovia V6 provides us with an opportunity to reduce development cycle time thanks to the fact that designers have easy access to previous product data that they can use for new product design.
“Enovia also improves collaboration since all data resides in the same place and is easily accessible to everyone participating in the product definition process.”
