Polartec sponsors Beaver Creek ski race
Performance fabrics manufacturer Polartec is to sponsor an international ski race at Beaver Creek, December 3-5. In its first year sponsoring the 2010 Audi Birds of Prey World Cup, Polartec is part of the official World Cup volunteer uniform, which includes a custom hat featuring Polartec Wind Pro fabric, which uses the company’s Hardface technology.
The event includes Downhill, Super G and Giant Slalom races. According to organisers, racers to watch include past champions Aksel Lund Svindal from Norway, Didier Cuche from Switzerland and Americans Bode Miller and Ted Ligety.
“The ski industry has relied upon Polartec products for decades, and we’re excited to support one of the world’s premier ski events,” said Polartec North American marketing manager, Allon Cohne. “We just announced the new Polartec NeoShell waterproof/breathable fabric launching next year, so now Polartec offers top ski apparel brands a complete layering solution for skiers and riders.”
