Beal World Team expands
France-based manufacturer of climbing and security ropes Beal has added climbers Nina Caprez and Romain Desgranges (also known as Moctar Walid) to its World Team.
According to the company, Ms Caprez is already one of the best women climbers in the world, aged just 23. An acclaimed Swiss champion since her youth, she has scaled Ali Baba, 8a+ (France), Hotel Supramonte, 8b (Sardinia), La Ramirole, 8b (France) and Ultime Démence, 8a+ (France), as well as her latest conquests in Mexico, Initiativa Mexico, 8a/a+ and Belltunnich, 8b.
She says: "You have to be happy when you are climbing. It is a wonderful gift to be able to climb, and if you are enjoying the experience, you can climb any route."
Mr Desgranges regularly ranks in the world top ten. Specialising in bouldering, he is accustomed to 8b/+ level climbs including Radja, Branson 8b+, Underground Paradise 8b+, Katcha, Fionnay 8b and Gautama, Branson 8b, and Kaiser Sauzé, 8c/8c+.
He is also an expert rock climber, with ascents of Pinoreta, 8c (Spain), Via Grassini, 8c (France), Ba Ba Black Sheep, 8c+ (France), Buele la Realidad, 8c+ (Spain) and Avaro 8c+/9a.
