Mountain Hardwear introduces Dry.Q

26/11/2010

Outdoor apparel, equipment and accessories producer Mountain Hardwear has launched Dry.Q, a new collection of waterproof-breathable technologies.

Dry.Q Elite prevents the wearer from getting soaked from the inside by their own perspiration regardless of the level of exertion. Featured in the brand’s Alpine, Snowear and Mountain categories, Dry.Q Elite provides durability, waterproofness and breathability.

According to the company, traditional waterproof-breathable systems move internally generated moisture out through the shell fabric, but before this can happen the wearer has to overheat and feel wet on the inside before the membrane begins to work. Dry.Q Elite, it claims, breathes instantly, allowing air and moisture to pass out through the fabric.

Additional members of the Dry.Q range include: lightweight, stretch and waterproof-breathable performance Dry.Q for active sports, such as running, offered in Mountain Hardwear’s Excel sportswear collection; and versatile, durable Dry.Q for a variety of outdoor activities found across its Alpine, Snowear and Mountain collections.

Mountain Hardwear president, Topher Gaylord, said: “Mountain Hardwear is a brand committed to challenging the status quo. Our athletes and customers have been conditioned to accept compromises in the performance of their traditional waterproof-breathable products.

“For fall 2011, our fabric and technology engineers took innovation upstream in the fabric creation process to create the most comprehensive line of uncompromising performance products on the planet. Having our own waterproof-breathable technology allows us to take a more holistic and innovative approach to designing each garment.”
