New flame retardants provide textile sector with greener option
ICL Industrial Products has launched a range of TexFRon flame retardants, which have been developed to provide a sustainable textile fire safety solution.
According to the Israeli company, the product line's efficiency reduces the textile end-product’s chemical footprint.
TexFRon products are water-based dispersions designed to meet stringent flame retardant requirements for a broad range of fabric finishes. Pre-launch field testing suggests the line is sustainable and durable, even after washing.
The series includes four products: TexFRon 9025 and TexFRon 9020, which are flame retardancy solutions for soak-and-wash-durable FR coating and back-coating formulations; and TexFRon P and TexFRon P+, which are flame retardancy solutions based on acrylic co-polymer emulsions with chemically-bound bromine. They are designed to enable textile formulators and finishers to produce FR cotton, polyester and cotton/polyester fabrics that last up to 50 laundry cycles.
