New WSA feature for 2011

06/12/2010
A new feature series will begin in WSA magazine at the start of 2011. Called Ask The Expert, the series of six articles will aim to answer readers’ questions on a list of hot topics in the world of textile innovation for sports and outdoor applications.

The six subjects Ask The Expert will cover in the course of 2011 are: antimicrobial properties in textiles; seamless technology; compression garments; developments in moisture management; combining comfort and performance and, finally, new fibres and fabrics.

In each case, we will announce the name of the recognised industry expert who has agreed to make himself or herself available to answer detailed questions about the specified subject. Readers of the magazine, of sportstextiles.com and of our new Twitter page are welcome to send questions and, if we have space, we will put it to the expert and publish the answer.

Anyone with an interest in the subject can submit questions on the Twitter page or by sending a message to a new, dedicated email address; askthexpert@sportstextiles.com.

For the first in the series, Ask The Expert will concentrate on antimicrobial properties in textiles and we are delighted to announce that Mike Sweet, director of technical development at Swedish antimicrobial technology provider Polygiene, has kindly agreed to use his knowledge of the subject and industry experience to help answer questions on this subject.

Readers with an interest in antimicrobial are invited to start sending their questions right away.
