Orage appoints new executive VP
Francois Goulet has been made the new executive vice president of Canadian outdoor apparel brand Orage. Coalision, the Canadian apparel company which owns the brand, announced that the appointment will come into effect on January 1 2011.
Mr Goulet will be based in Montreal and will report to Bernard Mariette, president and CEO of Coalision. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Mr Goulet has spent the majority of his career at French outdoor equipment company Rossignol, where he served as vice president of sales and marketing for the Canadian territory, president of Rossignol Canada, and president of Rossignol North America. He played an important role in the development of the brand as well as building the overall organisation for North America.
Mr Goulet will lead the strategic business direction of Orage internationally, and will strengthen Orage’s position in the free-ski industry.
“We are very excited to have Francois Goulet on board,” said Mr Mariette. “We have been following Francois’ work at Rossignol for several years, and I know that he is the right person to continue developing this brand. The appointment of Francois marks an opportunity for accelerating Orage’s brand, lifestyle, and business growth. Francois is a strong team builder and leader, and his knowledge for marketing, sales and products makes him the right candidate to lead Orage’s talented team.”
Mr Goulet commented: “After spending more than 20 years at Rossignol, I’m very pleased to join such a creative and strong brand as Orage. For 20 years, I have watched Orage’s brand grow. Now, today, I’m happy to be on this side of the fence. Working with Bernard Mariette again, as well as the Orage staff, will be an important opportunity to accelerate Orage’s momentum into becoming the brand powerhouse it can be.”
