Garment sales up by almost 25% in China

China’s National Bureau of Statistics has reported November 2010 retail sales of garments, footwear, hats and knitwear by large enterprises of $8.9 billion, an increase of 20.4% compared to the same month in 2009, but with smaller growth than the bureau recorded for October.

Overall, sales of consumer
goods during November rose by 18.7% year-on-year to $208.9 billion.

For the first eleven months of 2010, large companies achieved sales of garments, footwear, hats and knitwear of $77.7 billion, 24.5% higher than for the same period in 2009.
