TenCate expects strong revenue growth for Defender M products

12/01/2011
TenCate Protective Fabrics USA has achieved a turnover of around $60 million for its Defender M protective fabric products in the fourth quarter of 2010, more than double the sales figure for the same period in 2009.

A waiver that allows the Dutch company and its partners to supply flame-resistant fibres for these protective fabrics to the US defence industry was recently extended until 2015. The product portfolio uses a blend of fibres that includes flame-resistant rayon from Austrian textile technology provider Lenzing. The Defender M flame-resistant fabrics for US military uniforms are entirely produced in the US.
