Chinese apparel and textile exports burst through the $200 billion barrier

The customs authorities in China have issued new statistics showing that the value of the country’s exports of textiles and apparel increased by 23.6% in 2010 compared to the previous year.

For 2010, the total value of apparel and textile exports was $206.5 billion, a record figure. The previous record was $185.7 billion in 2008. It is only five years since export values first hit the $100 billion mark.
