AWI to launch new sports fabric range at ispo

19/01/2011
Woolgrower-owned not-for-profit organisation Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) has chosen this year’s ispo (Munich, February 6–9) to present a new development for sportswear, MerinoPerform.

Made from merino wool, the product is a new fabric range that, AWI says, will enable wearers to stay comfortably cool during exercise because of merino’s ability to transfer both vapour and sweat away from the body.

The range includes MerinoPerform Next to Skin, a fabric of 19.5 micron, suitable for garments worn during low-to-medium intensity leisure and sports activities, MerinoPerform Advantage, a double-faced merino-polyester fabric, suitable for garments worn by athletes in medium-to-high activity sports, and MerinoPerform PRO, a premium double-faced 100% merino fabric, suitable for high-performance garments, worn by athletes in all sport from low to high intensity.
