Fila Golf to launch 2011 collection at PGA show
South Korea-based sportswear company Fila will unveil its 2011 collection golf apparel for men and women at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida (27-29 Jan 2011).
The new collection is designed to enhance athleticism without hindering the body’s natural motion, the company claims. Made from Fila Golf’s cotton and recycled polyester, several pieces have wrinkle-resistant, moisture wicking, quick-drying and antimicrobial properties.
Standout pieces for men include the V-neck Oxford Pullover sweater-vest and the Brisbane Textured Polo. Made from a recycled polyester blend, the polo is light-weight and moisture wicking.
For women, the Volterra Striped Polo is a highlight of the collection. Characterized by tone-on-tone stripes with three-quarter sleeves and a faux-wrap front, the crossover top is comfortable and stylish.
“Our strategy is centred on providing PGA Professionals with collections that merchandise with looks from previous years,” says Nancy Robitaille, Fila Golf principal designer. “This not only makes ordering easier for pros, it also encourages purchases by golfers seeking styles that complement their existing wardrobe.”
Fila Golf’s complete line of apparel retails from $20 for accessories to $140 for outerwear and is worn in competition by professionals worldwide. The brand, which was founded in Italy in 1911, marks its 100th anniversary this year.
