French footwear brand launches new running shoe

Annecy-based sports shoe brand Hoka One One has begun the new year with a new product launch. The company announced in the build-up to ispo 2011 (Munich, February 6–9) that it was preparing to launch the Bondi.B running shoe at the exhibition.

The brand had a successful year in 2010, winning various awards in France for its trail-running shoe, the Mafate, which it has upgraded for this year in three areas: lacing, forefoot volume and sole durability.

Bondi.B is also part of Hoka’s planned expansion in 2011. The new road shoe has technology company calls Oversize, which consists of an ultra-light sole. Hoka’s contention is that this technology can help reducing the runners’ energy consumption, allowing them to “glide effortlessly over uneven ground and offering enhanced comfort, whilst limiting the risk of impacts and injuries”.

Hoka One One already has distribution outlets in eight countries: France, Italy, UK, Switzerland, Austria, US, Canada and Japan.
