Vivobarefoot to debut at ispo

02/02/2011

Vivobarefoot has unveiled its autumn-winter 2011 collection of footwear and will showcase its products at ispo (6-9 Feb, 2011, Munich) for the first time.

The company is launching into the outdoors market with its new barefoot trail and off-road performance footwear.

New styles for 2011 include a sporty ankle boot, a classic Mary Jane, a new sleek boxing boot and a waterproof ankle boot for ladies. A returning product is the Sheep, a super snug natural colour sheepskin boot which offers warmth and comfort with all the health benefits of being barefoot.

The Vivobarefoot concept was developed by Terra Plana in 2004, with an aim to create a shoe that would improve the well-being of the wearer. The products have an ultra thin, puncture resistant sole and come in vegetable-tanned leather, suede and nubuck.

According to Vivobarefoot, the benefits of walking ‘barefoot’ in their shoes include strengthening the muscles in the feet; exercising calves, thighs, lower back and abdomen; improving posture and lessening impact on the knees and hips; and stimulating all 200,000 nerve endings in the feet to enhance sensory perception.
