Filature Miroglio commits to Newlife

03/02/2011

Filature Miroglio, based in Italy, has announced that it plans to switch to its ‘Newlife’ platform for all its virgin polyester yarn products by 2015.

The company launched Newlife, a polyester yarn made from recycled plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in landfill sites, in September 2009. According to Filature Miroglio, reusing these bottles offers significant energy savings and reduces CO2 emissions. The yarns are Oeko-Tex approved and the firm’s production process is ISO 9001-2000 certified.

The company will officially announce its plans at Expofil (8-10 February, 2011, Paris).
