66North wins ispo award
Icelandic outdoor clothing company 66North has won an ispo award in the category Outdoor Soft Goods with its Snæfell Jacket made from Polartec NeoShell. As a result, Polartec will be on the winner’s podium with a new fabric for the second year in a row. The ispo award will be presented at the 66North stand during the ispo trade fair in Munich, Germany on 6 February, 2011.
“Based on the highly-functional Polartec Neo Shell fabric, the Snæfell Jacket impresses with exceptional functionality in many fields of application,” the ispo jury said in a statement. “Perfect workmanship and the successful realisation of detailed solutions round off the overall high-quality concept for a broad target group of outdoor sports enthusiasts.”
The 66North Snæfell Jacket is made from bi-elastic, light Polartec NeoShell and comes in both a men’s and women’s style. In both cases, the elbows are preformed and the shoulders designed without seams, ensuring an optimal freedom of movement. The use of Polartec NeoShell makes the jacket is waterproof and breathable, according to 66North. The two-way zippers used are also waterproof. An individually adjustable hood with a small peak follows the wearer’s movements without restricting vision in the process, while important items can be stored in the small pocket on the sleeve and the cuffs can be adjusted with a hook and loop fastening. The pockets are fitted with a mesh lining and act, where required, as a source of ventilation. The waistband is also adjustable.
