Lukas Podolski promotes Performance Essentials underwear

Cologne and German national team striker Lukas Podolski has signed up to be part of a promotional campaign sports brand adidas is running for the spring-summer 2011 collection of its Performance Essentials underwear.

Developed and tested in collaboration with professional athletes, adidas says the garments focus on functionality and maximum comfort. The collection consists of two lines, active seamless and active cotton underwear.

The active seamless line has no stitching and is made of ClimaLite,
proprietary light and breathable fabric that works to keep you cool by conducting heat and sweat away. The special fabric pulls sweat away from the skin to the outer fabric face for quick evaporation, enhancing the body’s natural temperature regulation, keeping you cooler, drier and more comfortable.

The active cotton underwear uses ClimaLite Cotton technology, which combines cotton and synthetic fibres. According to adidas, the fabric feels as soft as cotton, while enhancing the body’s natural temperature-regulating functions. Both lines are especially designed for sport but are also adequate for everyday use.

At the start of the campaign, Lukas Podolski said: “Comfort in sports underwear is vital for me whether I am playing a tournament or completing my training. The new adidas underwear offers the maximum comfort I need while helping me to stay cool and dry, on and off the pitch. Moreover, I really like how the pieces look on me.
